I have an old, second generation iPOD. By all means, it works as it should and I only use it in my car (everyday) or on flights. I don't mind the no color or any of that display stuff.

However, I've always wanted a wireless web browser. I can check my e-mail on my shitty cell phone, but I cannot see the entire message or respond. I was thinking of getting the Verizon Voyager, but don't like the phone itself.

So I was thinking of maybe picking up a 16GB iPOD touch. . I've never played with one, nor an iPhone, so I was trying to get some opinions on it.

How do you like it? What’s good and what’s bad? My buddy claims he loves his, the only downside is text messaging, and I won’t be doing any of that.

The browser would be very helpful, as well as some of the other functions, likes notes if anything. I always have an ongoing list in my pocket. The only downsides I can see facing is searching for wifi everywhere (Not sure how readily available it is around me or in businesses I go to) and having another “cell phone” in my pocket.

If you have any insight, please let me know. Also, any idea how I could get music from my current iPod to my new one if I buy it?

I have one. It's the slickest portable device I own. Safari is lightning fast, video playback is flawless, and the MP3 browsing is pretty.

The machine oozes style.

16GB. My only gripe is the HDD size. Also, if you have sausage fingers, you might have a problem.

my nephew has one, i have an iphone, same thing as far as i can tell. i love my iphone other than the fact that when i type too fast i start making spelling errors. the only other thing i didnt like about the itouch is the fact that it doesnt have speakers while my iphone does. why not just get an iphone? either way, get it then jailbreak it and you can install apps and crap on it.
