Sony and Philips both have a BR recorder. They're $599 and $499 respectively. A BR blank disc is $20.

Kinda defeats the purpose of what i'd use it for, making movie backups. Why spend $20 on a ripped blank when I can get the original for probably less.

There's almost no legal use for a BR burner. I highly doubt an average home user would have 51GB of original content to backup.

No HD DVD's or Blu-Ray discs here. h: I've pretty much given up on buying any sort of movie disc anymore. I have some DVD's that I've bought and haven't even gotten around to opening them yet. :hs:
