Default Should I trade the IS for the E46 M3 SMG?

I've fallen more and more for the M3s lately, both the old E46 and the new E92. I've been seriously thinking about selling my Current IS250 (at 22K Private sale - Worse possible price) and put in about another 6K Max for a good 03+ M3 at fair millages (under 60K miles) with hook ups from my friend who's a dealer. This is projected from the worse possible solution.

What fascinated me is the line, style, classy, and the power that they can produce NA and FI on the stock block. So I really want one.

The 06 IS250 was paid in cash, we have the title on hand. So selling it would be a breeze. Don't have to deal with any financial stuffs.

However, I've heard couple notorious issues regarding the E46 reliability that kinda worry me.

So HAN crew, please voice in your honest suggestion. Should I ditch the IS250 and go for the M, or keep the IS250 as grocery getter?

The e46 M3 is one of my all time favorite cars. So my vote is yes.

Trade it for IS350 instead, or the IS-F.

My main concern is upkeeping with the car and maintenance.

Getting isn't the problem, maintain it is.
