Default What just happened to me..

I was laying in bed, sort of awake.. and out of nowhere - my body locks up, I start shaking. I'm numb.. I can't see, I can't hear (sounded like loud rumbling and symbols clashing nonstop). I can't move, I can't talk. All I can do is lay there. Things were flashing before my eyes.. I don't remember exactly what they were, but I was seeing things. When I try to remember what I saw all I remember is a blur. It was hard to breathe.

This went on for what seemed like several minutes, and finally ended when I forced myself to yell.

..can anyone tell me what happened? I am scared to go back to sleep..

sleep paralysis. it happens.

i've only had it happen a couple of times. the worst back when i was dorming. i was yelling and yelling my roommate's name, but nothing happened and he didnt hear me.

i dont know the scientific or whatever reason behind it.

i was also told from a religious person, that it happens when you're "closer" to god. blah

Great.. I've read about that before, and it's something I never wanted to experience. What causes it? Stress?

So that makes me wonder now if I really did yell, at least I thought I yelled. Not sure if my roommate heard me. Maybe he didn't respond cause I yelled "Mum" ? Heh..

That's possible too, I don't know, but I don't remember having "visions" or I think I would have remembered something important or whatnot. Funny you would mention that though.. I was scared and one of the things I remember trying to yell/think was something along the lines of "God what do you want?" or "What are You doing to me" ..

I just hope it never happens again.

its likely you didnt yell at all.

my gf had an instance the other night. shes going through a hell of a lot of stress right now too, so maybe its related to stress.

I too was going through a lot of stress when I had mine, so who knows.

That's what it's looking like. Great. I'm not reading anything more than that page cause honestly it really scared me. Stress over here as well, with the passing of my Grandmother and all..

Time to go play CoD4. (craig)

I do something like this occasionally. I don't yell or anything like that. It usually happens as i'm going off to sleep. I awake scared shitless and just about every muscle in my body is tensed up. Feels like i'm falling. It takes a few seconds to realize where i'm at. :happysad: Doc said it's called a "hypnic jerk". Nothing you can really do about it.

I've even pulled it off in class a few times in HS :chuckles: <---- Gee, that really sounds bad if it's the only thing of my post that you read.
