my 1st battery only held a 10 minute charge after 140 cycles. :dunno:

this new one is at 90% after 40 cycles.

usually after about 400-500 cycyles the battery is worn out enough that it should be replaced. if it lasts less than 1hr then it's time.

last I got a popup it said I'm at 77% or something, that was maybe a few cycles ago

you may need to reset the gas guage. disable power saving then charge the battery all the way, then drain it all the way, then repeat 2x. if your laptop has a battery conditioning available in the OS, then use that.

did that.

trashed that battery a while ago

edit: and by trashed..... i threw it in one of those battery recycling bins on campus. h:

it depends on the type of battery cell technology used. if it's the standard li-ion cell using 18650 then 200 is about the half life.

if it's using smaller 16500 (i think that's right), then it will be less.

also if its li-polymer then it's again different.

ni-mh were the best at number of cycles, but of course they didn't last as long on a single charge.
