saab = subaru ?
$15K (incl tax, title, license, delivery, yadda yadda yadda) after an insane GM red tag sale in 2005 and trade-in. It was an insane deal. The Subie Impreza 2.5 wagons MSRP-ed around $18K.
I traded in a 2002 Nissan Xterra, and the Saab dealership payed me $1500 more than what I owed on the Xterra in trade... which was sweet.
It came with 2 year / 24K free scheduled maintenance which saved me maintenance expenses that 1st two years.
A few suspension tweaks, and the little wagon handles mostly neutral. No understeer. In extremes, a touch of oversteer. AWD kicks ass in crappy weather.

How is it holding up? Any issues?
I've seen a few used ones online with 30k miles or so listed between $10k - $13k, so that deal you got = :bowdown:
With how much down and how many miles a year? $99/mo tells me nothing. I've seen those types of deals and usually it's 6-8k down which is retarded.
Maybe he only gets 5,000 miles per year and put down $15K? :dunno:
I don't think he put much down at all, but I don't know what the mileage restrictions are... I'll ask him though... knowing the guy, I doubt he woulda paid any more that $1k out of pocket.
I did have one issue, but I caused it. Winter 2005, I got stuck waiting at a rail-road intersection. A freight train had broken down during a snow storm. I decided to use the AWD goodness to cross over the raised, snow covered median to get out of there. I made it up, and when about to go over... CLUNK. Got out, no apparent damage. Drove well.
The next winter, part of the exhaust pipe rusted out where it hit the median.
Mechanic: "Ive never seen that before. Do you know how it happened?"
Me: :no:
Mechanic: "Well it's covered under warranty."
Me:

The little wagon is what it is. It's a great commuter car, and very useful. You can cram a surprising amount of cargo into it.
