excel folks
here is my problem. each column is the end month to a quarter. each row below that is an account that exists in that particular quarter. the line seperates the quarter that those accounts are going to be billed for the entire year as they were opened. (ie accounts 1-7 will be billed for a full year end quarter mar 07, accounts 8-10 will be billed for a full year end quarter jun 07, so on and so forth)
now is there an easy way of counting how many accounts i will be billing for the entire year at each quarter?
also note that this is a very simplified version, where actual file has hundreds of accounts that open and close within a single year. i do not want to spend time every quarter spacing the accounts to match the previous quarters so i can manually count the accounts across the year (which is what mar 08 is for, as some of the accounts are missing and not sorted.)
now going forward as time goes on, the accounts that were billed on mar 06 will need to be billed again in mar 08 as they would have been around another year without closing.
any ideas?
TIA

Well excel won't let you do it automatically like could be done in access....In excel you still will have to go manually through and create functions for what you are looking for...you could cut the time down by creating the functions and then saving them, and then input more when needed
EDIT: I know basic stuff, im not as advanced as Keifers or others, but I can see that what you want to be done is perfect for a database
