Default Start up internet connection problem v.comp gurus HELP!

So my work computer has a weird problem. When I shut it down at night and then the next morning come in and turn it on the internet is not recognized so I ALWAYS have to restart it to get it to work...what could be causing this?

Mind you it is only when it has been shut down for a bit. It is a Toshiba Tecra laptop with the internet hardwired in not through wireless...

any ideas? My IT department is stumped.

Maybe it constantly is trying to assign an IP address to a computer that is always on?

No other of the 48 computers are having this trouble.

Well they might be on before you get in. I had an issue where my old computer was trying to assign itself an IP address by the network and it had a conflict cause 1. The name of the computer was the same as another on the network (changed it and fixed it) 2. The IP address my computer was trying to assign itself was taken by another one (solution assign myself a static IP address other than the one I'm currently using).

How could I go about fixing it? They put administrative privileges on my computer so I can mess with it.
