Default router keeps disconnecting internet FTL

this past week my netgear wgt624 v2 router has been acting up. i keep losing my internet connection and i have to do a power cycle to get it back up about every 30 mins to 1 hour.

i call tech support to the router and get some dude from india which is no help.

i call tech support from the internet provider and dude tells me to make sure i have the latest firmware(which i do) and thats all he can do.

i already did a hardware reset to the router and everything is set on default, still have the same problem.

anyone here got any ideas? is there such a thing as my router having a limited lifespan? it is about 3 years old

Was it provided by your ISP, or did you buy it? If you got it from your ISP, bring it to one of their offices and see if they can replace it for you. If not, see if you can borrow a good router from someone and test it out for a few days. If there are no problems then you should probably get a new router. I have heard of routers "going bad" before.
