Homey got a settlement

My friend was in a car accident about three years ago, and it crunched his car (dope 9000 aero) and screwed up his shoulder. Basically, he was sandwiched between a semi and another smaller truck. Since then he has had recurring shoulder problems and a lot of physical therapy and will probably never be 100% in his shoulders.

Well, finally the trucking company's insurance is giving him a settlement. Something like $70,000, some of which will go to unpaid medical bills, some will go to the lawyer, but still, thats like $40-50k in his pocket. As soon as we can get his credit fixed, we're gonna go house-hunting

Sux for your friend about his shoulder. IMO 70K is not enough for all the current damage and future problems caused by the accident.

Thats pretty much the way he feels.

But its been three years, and he was pretty much expecting nothing at this point, so :dunno:

doesn't seem that bad if $20-30k is enough to pay off laywers/medical bills.. :dunno:

maybe not if he had 0% responsibility in the accident....

I wish something would happen to me that would warrant a settlement for some high dollars.

:hsugh: you must be still drunk from last night....

ill take 0 dollars for nothing happening to me. not worth the stress/anxiety of fighting for a settlement, much less the pain of being hurt badly enough to warrant a settlement

LT 12-16-2007 07:42 AM

Okay, nothing that severs a limb.

white_n_slow 12-16-2007 07:52 AM

I just wanna get paid for nothing... maybe get molested by a lady bus driver or something and sue for emotional damages :oh:

Or that lady who got millions for burning herself with coffee...

Hell, just last week some bitch got a $2.8 million settlement from CU for being a passed-out drunk whore... how thats the university's responsibility is completely beyond me. :dunno:

im finding that as much as working every day kinda sucks, its a blessing to be able to work every day, earn a decent paycheck, and not have any serious mental or physical problems.

that said, some free money for not getting hurt would kick ass.

Well paying taxes is not really a "loan". You're paying taxes. I go into it expecting to not see anything. So when I file and I get a refund I consider it "free money"

the money you get back is what you overpaid in the first place. it's not free money by any means.

Exactly. But I never saw it in the first place so when I get it in the mail its free money to me
