They're there because they don't know what else to do.
Would you rather be drafted? Because only 1% of the American population voluntarily joins the military. They, I, volunteer to serve, protect, and make sure fuckers like you can go on making more money and sit there and say 'they don't know what else to do'. Shithead, I have a plan, but the military is also part of it.

That statement was based almost solely on conversations you had with me about not knowing what to do after you got your poly sci degree.
And another thing, Ryan. What did our degrees do? They just give us the ability to analyze, rationalize, and think. What skills would you say you possess? You sit in front of a computer all day and enter peoples information for loans or what have you.
I on the other hand have learned electronics from basic to complex that can pretty much go anywhere. Booyah.
well shit. i'm going into engineering because i dont know what else to do. that phrase just puts a negative spin on a good decision.
Some people are so dissatisfied with their own lives that they feel like they have to rag on other peoples decisions all the time to make them selves feel better.

You have no idea what I do. My entire job is rationalizing and analyzing. You fucking told me you were doing it because you had no idea what else to do, don't cop a fucking attitude because I'm pointing it out dickhead.

Some people sure. I am not one of them. I have a great life. I wasn't minimizing the decision to join the military...and yet I've got LT minimizing my job as "punching numbers into a computer". I don't think I'm the one with the superiority complex.

Good for you, but you make it sound like what I said is such an insult. Obviously what I said rings true for you, and look! now you know what you want to do! The military was obviously a great choice for someone who isn't sure about what they want to do with their future. In fact, probably the best choice. Not knowing what you want to do in your life in your early 20's is not only common, it's understandable.
Just because I say people join the military because they don't know what else to do doesn't mean I'm insulting them for making that choice.
