(The real thing)

How many of you play guitar? I'm thinking about scouting interest in something I would like to call "HAN's Guitar Hero". This is just a friendly contest, and if nothing else, can help you improve your skills.

There would be 3 categories:

Solo
Rhythm (Riff Mania)
Freestyle

Basically I am thinking that for the first two categories, HAN would have a vote on what solo should be performed, preferably one that tests different aspects of a lead guitarists skill level, same for "Riff Mania". For "Freestyle", well, thats basically what it is. Compose something yourself, of either category.

If I can get enough people involved, there will be prizes in the form of Gift Cards. Recording doesn't have to be anything special. Preferably it'd be a video, but if you just want to record the audio that is fine too (we'd have to have you do some sort of verification though).

This is just a rough idea for now but if there is enough interest I will fine tune it this weekend, then start polling for what songs/riffs/whatnot people want to hear.

I would be participating and organizing, unless someone else wants that task, and the Gift Cards would come from me. HAN ultimately chooses who wins.

So, whatcha think? Suggestions?

I'll be looking at three selections per category, and then HAN will vote for which selection will be done. For the freestyle, obviously you do what you want.

Awards are currently a undetermined amount, but will work like this: There will be an award for each category of equal proportions, the same person can win all 3 categories, or there could be three different winners. You won't know who is playing what, so that will eliminate any favoritism.

I'm thinking about picking it up today after work :o
