actually my tv has dvid, vga, YCbCr, YPbPr, composite, and svid
and ive decided to hold off on a new tv until moving out
in which case a 50+" can be justified

I'm almost sure they're referring to the HDCP regulations on the inputs.

Without an HDCP enabled TV, you won't even get a picture.

he's outputting from the lappy to a TV, not the other way around.
