i don't make new year's resolutions because i feel if there's something you need to change, you shouldn't wait for an arbitrary date but rather start right away.

Exactly. I make resolutions for myself but not necessarily for New Years. I made a resolution this year to work on next year. Going to stick with it because I need to do it not because January 1 is coming up
