Matrox Parhelia 128MB card.
Has 2 DVI, with the second DVI having an adapter that you plug two VGA cords into.

Spanned resolution of 3840x1024 ftw.
Working with multiple remote desktops, various programs open at the same time, etc is so much less painful with a nice wide res.

I almost did that, but ultimately went with a Matrox because of their software/drivers and the fact I got it for 70 shipped on eBay. The retail on them when they were new was 500+.
Seriously though, 3>2. With 2, you have the bezels going down the middle of your field of vision. With 3 you, have a full panel as your function work area with 2 others. Much nicer.

Plus you can run really pretty wallpapers
If you have an AGP card you can add in a PCI card (of the same brand for best results) and do it that way!
