I have overactive salivary glands. When I get work done on my teeth, they have to give me dry pills that I take an hour before my consultation to help out.
when my jaw was broken in the bike wreck it (1) messed up my saliva glands so i too have an overactive salivary gland making my mouth water all the time & (2) left part of my face with no feeling...probably permanatly...so i can't feel the extra saliva so i drool in my sleep some & spit a bit if i get to talking real fast
Most everyone drools. The reason you drool is because if you have the slightest of nasal congestion your body automatically switches to breathing from the mouth, which causes you to over salivate. While in levels beyond light sleep (very first level you hit when sleeping) you do not swallow. Therefore there is nowhere for the saliva to go except out the mouth due to breathing out the mouth.
