Polyphony Digital developers are OCD nut cases.
I saw a short documentary on how the GT series is made ... my god, the attention to detail is unreal.
I have a family friend who drives Laguna Seca. According to him, the course on GT feels just like the real thing.

yeah, including the top gear test track is pretty awesome. i expect when i actually get to play GT5, i'll be pretty impressed.
to be honest, the last time a GT game impressed me, it was back in 1998 when i first got my hands on GT1. seriously. yeah, i know, hate hate hate.
