Default Homebrew v. firstbatchisdone!@

Ok, my first batch of homebrew is done! Gonna let it condition for a week or 2 but cracked open 2 last night. Its a pale ale very similar to Newcastle. The cloudiness should go away after conditioning for a week or so. Overall, i like it

Awesome! I'm gonna go 5 gal bucket style eventually. Currently I'm using the Mr. Beer fermenter / malt extracts w/ hops. Their sanitizer works very well. Only drawback is its 2 gal. at a time instead of 5. I think i'm gonna join their beer club and get different extracts sent every few months.

edit:
How do you bottle outta those barrels w/o stirring up the sediment? I kept mine off the ground so I could pour f/ the tap.

That is very possible. You can use any kinda sugar you want to feed the yeast. I'm sure something minty could be used.....and some tequilla for flavoring to the wort.

I'm sort of the apprentice, it's kind of a whole-house project.

I'm pretty sure the fact that it gets transferred quite often reduces a major amount of the sediment to be stirred up. I'm pretty sure that they get transferred about 4 or 5 times each, and I think the gravity pump has a filter on it. Not totally sure though.
