Default Screenwriters Guild strikes

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/05/bu....html?ref=arts

Screenwriters moved to the picket lines this morning, as last-minute negotiations between the writers’ unions and producers failed to avert a strike over payments from producers for so-called new media, among other issues.

If you were thinking of a larger production online show you better act fast to get a foothold while these guys are on strike.

Heroes film an alternate episode just incase so that they can end the season because of this but if it doesn't drag on they'll air the original.

TV Guide's Michael Ausiello now reports that in addition, the producers of Heroes are going back and filming a new ending for that already completed December 3rd episode, which would better serve to turn the episode into a true season finale. If the strike is somehow averted, they wouldn't use this more specific ending and go back to the original footage they shot to lead into the next story arc.

The writers strike is set to begin Monday November 5th at 12:01 am PT, meaning the Heroes writing staff have until then to finalize the new ending.

I can't think of a group that I have less sympathy for.

On the news it said the last strike lasted about 22 weeks and lost an estimated $500 million.
