Well our garbage pick up only recycles #1 and #2 plastic so we end up throwing away a lot of stuff. Newspapers, magazines, regular paper, cardboard, clean wood, steel, other metal, etc. all get recycled and they just started to pick up every week, where they used to just pick up recyclables on the 1st and 3rd Mondays before.

Whats up with not recycling? My roommate throws all his cans and bottles in the trash, its freaking annoying especially when recycling is included in rent.

It's a sugar pill to make us feel better about our wasteful ways. It also takes more wasted fuel and energy to recycle an item than to simply make new material.
