Default HD crew question

so i got my HD receiver today and i ordered a new HDMI cable this morning.

question is:

will i get good HD signal running coax from the receiver to the tv? and is it really necessary to run a HDMI cable from receiver to tv?

im picking up 720p signals right now with coax and no box and it looks pretty damn nice

Coax is good from the wall to the cable box but best if you use HDMI cable from cable box to the TV

is that what your asking.?

coax into the tv means the highest you'll get is 480i.

the difference between hdmi and components for 1080i is negligable. on my setup, component actually looks better than hdmi for my cable box.

Are you sure about that?

The comcast cable box we have won't even display anything higher than 480i without components
