I'm not a big fan of Elvis either, but this is his beginning stuff, (not the best recording) really just a jam session that happened in the studio, not the highly commercialized crap of the latter part of his career. The only other album of his that I have is "The Sun Sessions" and it's really raw stuff, (lots of outtakes)that is only on this album for "historical" reasons. This (Quartet) and Sun Sessions weren't really meant for general distribution.
