OK so I got Verizon FIOS service at my house about 2 months ago and after using it for a month I cancelled my Comcast cable internet service.

Well apparently it hasn't been shut off yet and I have been using it daily since I have the upstairs of my house still wired into it.

So how long do you think I will still have cable internet service piped to me for free?

I say it's gonna keep going until the incompetent person who didn't disconnect it, is finally let go.

I remember when people across the street had cable installed and somehow we got it too. We had cable free for 3 yrs until our neighbor called to have it installed and the cable guy found our connection. :chuckles:

When my parents got divorced they canceled the extraneous (Showtime, Skinemax, HBO) channels from their bill. The stopped charging us, but we kept them for almost 15 years. They only finally figured it out after they started upgrading the infrastructure to handle broadband.

When we got our internet we had some troubles and the guy took off the filters and said he'll be back in a week to put them back on. He came back the next week but forgot about them. That was like 6 or 7 years.

i once went about 3 years without paying for cable... so I'd say if the bandwidth usage is kept low it will last until you move
