I've been eying a 24" 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme
* 2GB memory
* 500GB hard drive1
* 8x double-layer SuperDrive

but its so expensive.

I just found another pc that looks interesting

add thermalright extreme 120 heat sink and you can oc that q6600 2.4GHz to 3.4GHz without even breaking a sweat.

ok so i guess your vote goes for the pc.. and yea the pc would be easier and cheaper to upgrade. the imac is all built into the lcd which worries me.

I personally will never buy a computer that's attached to a monitor. I'm a Mac junkie, but not an imac junkie.

I just bartered with my boss to get a mac mini core 2.0 core duo. It's got a gig of ram, and does what I need on photoshop just fine. I don't game on my computer anymore, and I'm not doing video. I have seen however the 2.66ghz quad Macs in our office run crazy fast on windows.

I'd get the PC, though the instruction upgrades on the upcoming chips are some of the biggest since '04 and if it's not needed I'd wait for SSE4/SSE5

SSE4 and SSE5 wont do much until 1.2 years after they are implemented.

G0 core on the new Q6600 ROXORS!
