Hole in my exhaust (pic)
So last night I hit a speed bump going a little too fast and I heard a "clink" followed by a much higher exhaust note. So I stopped and got out of my car to find this on the road:
It turns out that it was a bracket that was part of my exhaust that goes into a rubber hanger to keep it from swinging. Here is the hole:
I got some high temperature exhaust tape to patch it up for now. Is that piece that came off weldable or am I pretty much screwed?

doh!
I would think you could just weld it back on.
How is the tape working out? Still any high pitched sound or is it doing the job at least until you can get the bracket back on?

When I called the muffler place they told me that I would need a full replacement to which I replied "No thanks." Hopefully the tape works fine. My concern is that the metal may be too thin to weld. I don't know, I have zero experience with welding.
Also, the tape is good for 1000 degrees. I'm not sure how hot mine gets because it has a turbo. Am I still pretty safe?
