Default Home Audio Peeps: Need Sub and Amp

Instead of going the surround route for my great room, I decided to tailor it to music. The acoustics in the room are great because of hard wood floors and 14 foot ceilings, but my equipment needs an upgrade.

Speakers:
I am using a pair of B&W DM302 bookshelf speakers. I have had these things since Fatbooty and I were in high school, but they are still in excellent shape.

Amplifier:
piece of AIWA trash

Subwoofer:
none

My budget is ~$500 but willing to spend a little more to do it right. The tweeter in Philly just closed, so I want to stick with online retailers (including large chains).

So its only going to be hooked up to a cd player or an mp3 player or are you going to be watching movies and whatnot with it?

Amazing car audio, and (I've heard) equally amazing home audio.

Yup, they just started it up about a year or so ago. Ben really wanted to get in to the HT market.

I've spent ALOT of time with their HT setups... pretty good stuff. Their HT subs are the bee's knees... Check out the HT section on www.icixsound.com/vb

Do you run any eD equipment?

I'm running 6500's, (2) NINe.2x's, and a 12O.14, sealed

Scott, thanks a lot.

You run KnuKonceptz wiring too? I remember when they started their eBay business. There have been some EXCELLENT audio companies to start up through forums like this one.

Yup, I run Knu. They are kind of like IKEA: they have a lot of cheap stuff that is crap, but they carry some decent stuff at great prices. Just don't get the cheapest version of anything.

They also don't have very good customer service, but you don't really need alot of service when it comes to wiring... It pissed me off a few times, but oh well.

LMK if you need any more insight/advice etc.

Thanks a lot. I always wanted to start an online audio shop modeled after MMXpress when John was there.
