If you watch it online @ the networks website do they get credit?

nope ... they also don't count TiVo / DVR recordings.

I've wondered that too. I hope so, I watch some of my favorite shows online (Lost, Friday Night Lights)

Not true, they count how many people record the shows on Tivo/DVR, but in a seperate catergory than viewings.

That was why I was asking Friday Night Light's is now on Friday so I'll only watch it online

how do they even calculate the ratings? do you have to watch for a certain amount of time? what if you change channels during commercial?

and how can they not count tivo recordings when it's on the channel? what if i'm watching and recording at same time?

i dont get it :hs:

correct ... I thought only "live" traditional viewing.





as far as Web TV or "Intertubing" ... they're not accommodated for in Nielsen ratings, but there has to be a counter on the network's site.

I think ratings are different than before. With digital cable, the providers know what people are watching now. Before, they used to send out surveys with little or no incentive, so they were extremely biased based on the kinds of people that actually filled them out and sent them in.
