Apple disabling iphones
I find it humorous, almost as funny as them overpricing the phone by $200 and then giving back $100....

Its kinda funny how people (i'm guilty as well) bitch about how expensive the iphone is.. my HTC 8525 is MSRP at $599 as well.. but there's rebates with most places that you can buy them from. But i guess when you're a small company like Apple, you gotta make every dollar count since your market share is so small

Their marketshare is not small. They're seen as a niche company, but that's only what they want you to believe.
It's just like a hacked copy of Photoshop. You hack it, and do the updates, it quits on you. I have a program called Little Snitch. Every time my computer prepares to dial out, it lets me know so I can deny it. :hsugh:
There are also reports of the update causing issues with unaltered iPhones.
Some owners are reporting on technology blogs and Apple's own forums that the update is deleting contacts information, as well as photos and music, on iPhones that have not been modified in any way.
