Default 401k = Bogusness

Company only matches 10% of what I invest...If I invest 2k a year they match me with $200, but with that $200 im only vested in %20 of that...so inturn it comes out to about a whopping total of $40 that I actually have gained...total crap

They don't have to match anything if they don't want to. Matching isn't required.

Are you sure it isn't 10% of your paycheck and not 10% of what you invest?

I called the head in charge of 401k....He said my company chooses what to match at the end of the year..It can be 100% or 0% at their discretion...and @ $30 a week im only bringin in $250 a week...So its kinda killin me right now....He said they only match what I contribute not 10% of my total pay

well obviously, if you're not putting any in, they wont. But most companies will match any contributions up to a certain %...for the company I work for, it's 6%.

401ks rollover to future employer's 401k plans or into IRAs.

if it's exactly what you're saying, your company sucks.

about 50% of companies match their employee's 401 contributions at rate of up to 6% of worker's SALARY.
