Default credit question: Something strange happend

So one of my credit cards that I havent used in like 11 months is charging me an annual fee. So I called them up and told them to close the account.
This was probably 5-6 weeks ago.
I checked my credit score through my Washington Mutual bank acccount and my credit score shot up 53 points

That isnt strange at all. You have less open credit line now, and since you didnt have any late payments (I am guessing) on the life of the account, it looks great on credit.

You probably improved your debt to availability ratio. I have seen that the optimal is about 30% unless you have absolutely no debt whatsoever.

i have no late payments on my accounts within the past 7 years. I remember making one late payment when I was 19 or 20 and thats about it.

I really closed the account cause I didnt want to pay an annual fee.
Meanwhile I have like 4 credit cards with the same company ( HSBC ) two they charge annual and two do not. Im thinking of closing the other one that charged me an annual fee. Maybe my points would shoot up another 50+

doubtful, but it will go up a little depending on how long you have had the account.
