You will notice speed differences, but as noted earlier, you are going to have problems finding software compatible with a full 64 bit implementation.

32 bit software will work on a 64 bit machine(or most should if they're programmed correctly).

64 processes a lot better than 32 and can support large RAM. Down side is that it's not compatible with many things.

My t43 had horrible battery life. About 2 months ago I got a Dell Latitude D830 instead.

Is the 64bit version of XP any good yet? Last I heard (maybe a year ago) it sucked.
