- On my machine, I have 2 SN's (e3NiNe2 & e3NiNe3). e3NiNe2 purchased everything on XBL. e3NiNe3 has access to what #2 purchased. This means that downloads are purchase per machine, not user name.
- I unstrapped my 120GB HDD and brought it over to the girlfriends to play Castle Crashers. When I connected the HDD, the content was there, but the game saves weren't. My L50 knight was nowhere to be seen. Also, my Braid data was gone.
Without the matched system / hard drive, the XBox will not carry over any saves. It will start new ones for sure though. I started a new game of Castle Crashers, came home to see that my L50 never returned. I didn't play Braid at the GF's. When I looked at that, everything was still there.
- When your XBL expires, you lose the rights to play online. You're demoted to a "silver" grade account which gives you access to the download store. You can still purchase and download for your machine, but you cannot play online.
Here's some random stuff I do know.

yeah, it carries everything over except the save data. Imagine buying a preloaded HDD, that's what it's like.
The save data is still there, but won't return unless the machine the save was created with is present. If you happen to start another game, it'll overwrite what's not visible on the new machine.
