i had a decent group last night. we won 6 and lost 3. i had + k/d ratio on all xcept 2, one was neg the other 0. think that would mean i would go up a rank.... NOT
I've heard a lot of people say to concentrate on getting more headshots - they say it is one of the stats that the computer looks at the most to rank up.

I'm pretty sure rank is determined by number of wins.
Let say you need 5 wins to rank up, you win 4 games but then you lose 1, you need to win 2 more before ranking up.
when you start the game and you spawn under the sword, do not run to the left side. There are fusion coils laying there. If you run anywhere near it and someone chucks a grenade, you'll be blasted off the map. :lmao:
Love being the grenade chucker. You throw a grenade and all the sudden you hear, double kill, Triple kill and all you did was throw 1 grenade.
If I spawn on the sword side I run towards the brute shot/laser and sit in that corridor and pick people off as they are running towards the golden shower.

Note anymore, the rank system is actually pretty deep, and is based on your stats (even more than just what shows is post game) That way, no matter how many you win, you're rank is really how well you play. They took the trueskill system and modified it. They used to have a good thread on the bungie forums explaining it... now I forget where it is. ah well.
Edit: did a little more searching, they take all of your stats and do comparisons to the people of the same level, and that track how consistent you are with those stats. That is also how they judge your trueskill rank. However, wins do count towards your trueskill point total, as well as how high you finish on your team.
