Xbox One Crew w. big enises ... Halo MCC HYPE THREAD! (est. 2007)
I just messed around with the new maps (Rat's Nest and Standoff). These things are impressive. One thing that comes to mind is how balanced the weapon selection is for the teams. No more racing for 1 rocket launcher or cloak, both sides are outfitted with the same gear.
Standoff is definitely a long range weapon map. It's wide open with minimal cover. There's no way someone can make it from coast to coast without getting spotted.
You can see that Bungee was tempted to implement an underground tunnel system. It looks like it was all there at one point (multiple pointless doors and terrain cutouts, but either removed or rethought.
Rat's Nest = close quarters when in the inner portion of the map. There's no creeping, there's no hiding. A detached machine gun would destroy everything in there.
The outer ring feels like race track. I wonder if there's any way to camp on that air vent tubing that runs around the map.
This is going to be loads of fun to play.
Off to Foundry.

Foundry is ... interesting.
The entire level is made of modular bits and pieces found in the Forge's custom builder menus. (Think Lego bricks on a flat table)
This is as clear of a canvas as you can get (when you wipe it out). There's 4 walls and gigantic machine crates everywhere. I can't find many weapons and there aren't any good spots to snipe of hide.
No active camo, no shotgun, no maulers, nothing ... 1 rocket launcher, 1 sniper.
Seems like maulers have been removed from these 3 maps all together. : \

Pros:
+ these new maps are excellent. I'm really digging Rat's Nest and Standoff.
Cons:
+ only the hardcore will buy these levels until they're given away for free. prepare to get your ass handed to you by people willing to invest another $10 into Bungie.

The latest and greatest are $10. You get a 3 pack, 2 are completely new ... 1 is more of a canvas fan level editors have been asking for since day 1.
These will eventually be given out for free down-the-road.
You can see that they invested quite a bit into these new levels. They're so well done. I don't mind spending money on something that's of quality. ]
Ice storm in IL, anywhere from .5 to 1 inch.
Although well salted, the roads aren't the best and I was given the option of working from home today.
