i think one of the problems is for a new monitor i'd had to have hdmi and i have the older 360 that doesn't have it. do you think the vga would be good enough?

Oh wow. That's rare to find in a monitor. For what it's going to be used for, I think that this is more than enough. It's also future proofed in the event you want to hook up an HDMI 360 or a PS3.
Those obnoxious 2,000,000:1 LED contrast ratios can't be detected by the normal eye.

Depends what you do with it. H3 and other FPS' games will only allow you to shoot only so fast. I play so much that I was developing joint pain in my fingers. This will help.
If I were to play Tekken or SFIV, then yes ... this is a cheating device. You'd get 2 or 3 extra kicks in per ground combo.
