Default HD-DVD 3-Layer approved for HD-DVD spec

Now we just have to wait to see if the extra layer will be compatible with the current drives, if so we could see a big shift to neutrality due to the 51GB space provided

screw that. They need to get down to 1 single format and 1 player for everyone before thinking about adding any upgrades.

The newest LG dual players will support BR1.1 THOUGH, BR is a peice of garbage system whose players STILL aren't fully BR2.0 certified, and I doubt any current models will be able to feature it.

Sony is doing their best to fuck BR up the ass as they have MD/ATRAC Memory Sticks, iLink, and Betamax

promote on Sony, promote on, maybe you're masturbation mantra of WE WON WE WONNNNN will actually matter

:edit:

at least this update is useful. It also includes spec for the hybrid (HD)DVD discs, which feature both the DVD and HDDVD movies on one side of the disc.

I'm not dissing nor praising either formats (HD-DVD or BR). I'm just saying that both of them needs to get down to 1 format and make life easier for everyone else.

This has been in the works for a while. Basically its an HD-DVD with some tweaks, the players are supposed to be able to play HD-DVD's as well as chinese HD discs.
