I got certified in the Cayman's. They had a deal where if you paid for the resort dive and wanted to get certified after they would apply the cost towards your certification shit. It was pretty sweet. I did all my cert dives in one of the worlds best dive locations h:

i got certified up north. $550 for my NAUI certs and that included all my gear rentals.

my first open water we did to 75 ft and the water temp was 41 degrees, i have yet to dive in the ocean and my uncle even has a dive boat and full gear right on the coast in florida

edit: wait...how long were you down there? a week? you must have done your certs like everyday for an hour or two at least ... my certs took about 6 or 7 weeks once a week one hour in class, one hour in pool with 3 opens

 

I don't even wear a wet suit, I dive in a t-shirt (for chaffing) and bathing suite h: at 100 feet the water is 78 degrees h:

I have never done the fresh water thing, I don't see the draw. I am PADI certed.

 

see question above ... but ... yea ... PADI, our instructor wasnt a huge fan of the PADI certs but he said def it was the only other one he would let someone rent from him with. He used to be PADI but he went to NAUI because their training program was much more detailed and involved

2 hours of class 2 hours in the pool a day. 4 open water for my jr open water. I am now Advanced Open Water. My father is a Rescue Diver.

 

sweet ... i havent dove in just over a year :wtc: my cousin was certified but he moved away and at that point i didnt have a dive buddy anymore ... and no dive buddy = no diving.

so i'm a bit rusty, i could still drop in no prob but my skills would take a couple dives to get down ... and my gear i have no longer fits

 

cruises are efffin sickkkk . . . sickest vaca i ever been on. . i did a 9 day to the carribean absolutely unreal. . .your trapped on a ship with chix for 9 days by day 5 they're goin off the walls, def plan to gain weight. its a buffet for breakfast n lunch eat as much as u can. because that what your basically paying for unlimited eatin. check the lil paper they give you everynight about the next days activities, in there youll find where the happy hours are gonna be and where the free drinks are to save your bar tab a lil bit 1k for 5 days is def gonna be enough depending if your liver is up to it lol, another thing is put some $$ aside for the casino them slots are addictive haha but since you have a year to save you should have it all by then, gonna be the time of your life bro have fun.

ps at the end youll be asked to put some tip money in these envolopes for your room attendant, and your waitors. . usually about 100$ per cabin so put something aside for that. for me it was an unexpected expense n kinda pissed me off lol but they do good, they deserve it !
