best car for under 20 Grand...
Z06 is an extremely easy car to drive once you get used to the heavy and vague steering. It's spooky at first because there's no road feel, but the chassis itself is extremely predictable.
This vague steering phenomenon plagued the C5 and C6, although GM has given the Corvette a new steering rack for 2008 which is supposed to be remarkably better (have not driven).

From what I understand, with the new damping or whatever they've done to the rear + the new rack it's a lot more predictable in high speed corners, less likely to have the tail step out abruptly.
Still though, for something that fast I just don't think the way it sounds (at least from the outside) is quite right, at least once you get the revs up. Sounds neither throaty nor exotic, just bleh IMO.(Supposedly the new vacuum-operated butterfly valve, or whatever, exhaust improves that but never heard)
Even if all I could do was drive in a straight line I would choose an S2k over a any trim C6 for the sound alone, despite s2k being slow by comparison and getting similar mileage
