Default HALP computer people

AVG just found a virus on my PC called PWS.Agent.MKS

what is it, how dangerous is it, and how can i get rid of it...

AVG denotes a status of "change" to a bunch of critical components, if I do reformat, will i have to refresh the boot sector?

from what i understand most pws.agents are password stealers... i'm wondering if it was just one of those freak occurances of a cracked file looking like a trojan

i'll take any help i can get. luckily i havent restarted in a while so chances are that it never got a chance to take hold and grab anything, or i'm hoping.

i think i can thank marshy and a file he lent me for this one... but i guess thats my fault for losing my clean version
:edit:

i searched google, the best i can get for it is that since it's part of the PWS family it must be a password stealer... generally i don't worry about those too mch because a lot of them seem to go inactive after the writer loses interest

I really don't think it was, I'm sorry if it was!

Run the file through a virus scanner.

Marshy: "You wanna borrow it? I've got an extra copy?"

Anyone else: "No thanks. I was headed down to the black market anyway."
