Now i wonder how is this legal. I know in PA i'm not sure in other places but it's illegal to have a bullet proof vest. So what's to stop me from buying 2 of these and flattening them out and making them into a vest.

Edit: Picture of Will shooting a bag

I'm guessing the kevlar is kept in some sort of a back pad. Kevlar is weakened when watered, so it has to be a water proof bag.

are there water proof, breathable, materials?

I'm just wondering how freaking hot this bag would get when put on. h:

i would have to assume its not near the level of kevlar that would be found in a soft body vest.

90% of those vests are quite heavy for a child. im guessing its a light amount and they are counting on the books and papers in the bag to make up for the reduced thickness

edit:

this "ballistic panel" weighs in at 20oz comparable to the 10lbs for a panel from a vest ... they claim its passed level II testing but i find it hard to believe that it would be all that effective for anything more than a single shot.

Are you sure it's illegal to have a bullet-proof vest in PA? I thought only felons were prevented from having bullet-proof vests, as the rest of us have a right to protect ourselves. I know in CO it's legal.

Some states are considering new legislation to prohibit or restrict sales of Body Armor to civilians, e.g., New York. If you are in a state that passes such a law, you would be well advised to make your Body Armor purchase now before it becomes much more expensive and inconvenient, if not prohibited altogether.

I believe PA is one of those places as well.
