ok so i tried the RAM from my dad's computer and the one stick at time thing with my original m/b and no luck.

so DHL comes in with my "new" cpu and motherboard.

i install everything, do all the jumpers, bla bla bla

on the first power up i'm greeted with a constant beep with no video and no post.

so i'm already pissed. i try different RAM chips again, my old power supply, and some other issues.

an hour and a half later i bump the cpu heatsink and i hear it "clunk".

i turn on the power and voila, the thing boots up.

yay.

Issue 2: the heatsink pops off, but there is so much hardened thermal paste, that it takes a couple of GPU resistors with it. (i'll post pics after the computer is together)

So that puts me on the hunt for another video card.

Old reply, but nonetheless, try shutting down sweeper and just letting PC-cillin work. They might be getting in each other's way.

This comp. has PC-cillin and SpywareBlaster running together and no probs.

I think they do conflict a little...but even with the CPU close to 100% it runs fine...so I may just ignore it.

If it gets the job done than good enough I suppose.

Are you sure it's the PCcillin and sweeper that are using that much?

Is it a really old comp?

yeah I'm sure...I checked in task manager. It's a little over a year old and is a pretty beefy computer....which is probably why even at close to 100% it's still not slowing down :hs:
