Anyone ever spelunked before? v.56k lots of photos!
A couple weekends ago I went on a spelunking tour in Cave City, CA (east of Stockton) and it was supposed to be a 3-4 hour tour and ours turned into a 6.5 hour long tour (longest they have ever had because the people in my group were DAMN slow).
I have never done it before so I decided to drive up and do it. It was one of the COOLEST things I have EVER done. You fit through holes you would never think you would. I turned out to be the fastest of the group (aside from the guides). Places that were taking people like 10-12 minutes I was through in around 1 minute...no joke.
Check out the pics.
If you want anything at full size let me know.
The Entrance
Kind of tight...
See the helmet? Thats the crawl space
The shelf we took a break on
Little formation on the ceiling
Just chilling. Still near the beginning
Overlooking the first big room.
Low ceiling
Low Ceiling
Entrance to the Womb Room. A regulation size basketball can't fit down that hole.
But I can . The tightest hole on the tour.
As you come through. (not my legs)
Part of Dead Mans Maze. The mud was SUPER sticky!
Cool little rock bridge...she popped out of nowhere.
On our way through the second tightest hole.
Little Squeeze
The hole on the right is where we came from. The other hole is a 30 foot drop to your possible death.
That is the opening we get to go through. People took 10-15 minutes through here...took me 1 minute. it was like a 15 foot tunnel
The Jungle room/point of no return

A cesspool of calcium

Flowstone. looks like cake :yumyum:

In the Raft
Bye rest of Tour Group…raft only holds 3 people.
Spear that we went around on the raft.
That tiny light was all she had to see.
VERY DARK!!!
The next boat load
The waiting area
The waiting area. That dark part of the bacon is actually iron.

No Lights…that’s all the flash could do.

A 70 foot ladder climb to the top. COVERED in slippery mud and no fall protection.

That looks pretty sweet. There are some caves like that around here, I only went once and it was pretty cool, there aren't guides or tours at this one, and it is way easy to get lost. A little while after we went I heard somebody got lost without a flashlight and died. The caves are closed now, but I have no desire to go back anyway.
