Default Dual Screen Crew vs Halp!

Little help here. When i use 2 screens, i use the main to the right, and the secondary to the left. But when i do not have the second connected, and open an app that i had run in the secondary. The app starts in a non existant screen. Looking online, the only workaround i see is " open the app, move it to main, disconnect secondary" and go from there. Anyone have some insight as to what i am missing here?

Thanks

are you just like unplugging the screen or are you deselecting it from the desktop properties and then disconnecting it?

When i disconnect it, i turn the screen off in display properties and then unplug it. When i open an application, it jumps off of the screen. If i plug in the screen and enable it, the application appears where it was when i closed it/disconnected the screen.

there is a setting that you can set with the video card driver, if your video card driver supports it. you can set it to always start on one screen or the other. not sure if it's native to XP. maybe check tweekxp? or whatever to see if it's supported natively.

It sounds like you aren't disconnecting the monitor properly. When I was on XP I would hook up my tv to watch movies, then I would go from TV + Laptop(Or Monitor + Monitor for you) to single monitor and make sure all the settings you changed are back to normal(If you have the right program you can set up different profiles).
It should revert the primary screen to the only monitor. Make sure it is though.

That shouldn't happen. When you disabled the secondary, all the apps will start on the primary from there.

If problem is still there, then start the apps, move it to the primary screen, close the apps, disable the secondary, then start the apps again.

Yep. That's my vote. I think even a Mac will do that to you, and Macs are smarter
