Default MKV files and how to play them

So....I have a few MKV movies that I want to watch, but the stupid VLC media player plays it with this yellow tint that I hate, and I know it's the player.

I downloaded numerous codecs so I can watch it using WinAmp or Windows Media Player but none actually works. The last one I installed played the sound, but no video.

Do you guys have any ideas what I can do to watch these movies without using VLC?

Thanks.

Go to http://cccp-project.net/
Download and install the CCCP codec pack. (Media Player Classic is included)
Download and run the CCCP Insurgent program.
Turn off unnecessary codecs from other packs.

Enjoy. Actually, you might be able to get away without using Insurgent.

I just did that actually hahaha...and it works...but for some reason the yellow tint is still there. I don't get it I guess the movie did have a yellow tint to it after all. The reason why I thought it was the player was because all the ones that didn't have the tint shows up with it using VLC.

Oh well.

Thanks for your help man.

Yeah, it's not VLC.

MKV is just a container, like AVI, it's setup to be an all in one solution to include menus and multiple video and audio streams... but generally it's still encoded with ASP or [more recently] AVC video native to VLC.

if you download the veoh client it will torrent them for you , just make sure you copy them out of your veoh folder before they delete them from the server (the veoh client will also delete them from your computer at that point)

That series has some funny graphics. But as it goes on, it's getting interesting. Typical "weird" theme from the original: 7 Samurai.
