Coinstar charges 8 or 9%. I can't remember what the specific figure is. They've resorted to offering you your full amount if you take the funds in the form of a gift card to participating stores (Best Buy, Home Depot, iTunes, etc).

Charges 8.9%, actually, unless you get one of the gift cards it offers for the amount of your change. Then it's fee-free.

24 bucks last week.

didn't know about the gift card part. i never took my change to coin star because i didn't like how it took a percentage of the money off.
