verizon phones can not be used on their network once they have been listed as lost or stolen, just plain impossible
it is possible to get it to work on other networks with the right knowledge, but a serious pain in the ass, and doesnt always work

havent you ever lost your phone?
if some guy had your phone sitting in front of him and decided he would rather break it then drop it off at the verizon store what would you say to him?
