yeh, certain days are way more expensive than others,
I usually buy way in advance, or wait til a week or so before the flight to buy. You can always check craigslist for travel vouchers too.

 

I think they abandoned that rule years ago.
I've bought tickets months in advance to see the same thing happen within hours.

I usually get good deals... but i search alot and alot.

 

The best day to get plane tickets is on Wednesday because most airfare sales are thrown out there on the weekend. So then, other airlines then jump into the game, discounting their own fares and prompting further changes by the first airline. You'll get a better deal if you book late Tuesday or tomorrow.
