While #2 looks nicer, I've always felt the Choate-style stocks are more comfortable & natural to shoot with.

i'm the exact opposite i feel more comfortable with a full style stock like the second one.

i never could get used to that open stock style when im bench shooting or shooting at distance. plus i like the weight in the full stock

I was thinking of the weight aspect but I'm thinking that might cancel itself out because of the heavy barrel on the rifle.

My wrist feels unnatural at the angle most traditional rifle stocks put it at, whereas the "pistol-style" handgrips feel good to me. I agree with you though that some of those stocks can be a little underweight.

ahh that makes sense. stnadard stock is very comfortable in my hand
