The evolution of dweezel
So Google has lots of search results, and traditionally, people pay them money to come up on the top of the list. I used my "dual web identity" to make my content easily searchable. For example:
My new media resume (dweezel + david litsky)
http://urltea.com/131x
Using Dweezel to capitalize on generic terms:
Business - http://urltea.com/131z
Web - http://urltea.com/1320
Technology - http://urltea.com/1321
Mobile - http://urltea.com/1323
Additionally, I am starting to come up in search results without using either of my names:
community lifecast - http://urltea.com/1324
sms lifecast - http://urltea.com/1325
UCA Cash flow analysis (this one drives a lot of banking professionals to my site) - http://urltea.com/1326
All of these results have my site on the first page of google. As I do more research and start to provide content for terms, my site will make it to more sites on google. People have started to search for my real name in google. Previously, it came up with 1-2 results then a bunch of random people. Now, this is what comes up:
http://urltea.com/1327
This may not sound impressive, but people are paid to "search engine optimize" and I have created a base to optimize just about anything. In addition, I am starting to get feedback from my 'real life' friends that I am coming up in second-tier results. For example, one of my acquaintances was discussed in Wired Magazine, and a visit to his site came up with my name. I have effectively put myself all over the web by talking about everyone else but myself.
