just came from a dsl trouble the the stupid helpdesk issuued because "the cust is having major pc issues"

got there & she says "they kept telling me to click internet explorer on the desktop & i don't have it" she's damned near in tears as i sit down at the pc.....

click start>>programs>>internet explore (right-click>>>show on desktop)...

there. anything else you need?? tried to hold back my smugness as best as i could

i swear, there should be some kind of test before people are allowed to buy a computer

"Yeah, IE does that a lot. Just go to Start->Programs->Internet Explorer, go to mozilla.com and download Fire Fox. There.. All issues fixed!"

I don't remember where exactly I saw this, but there was a remote that was designed for... how do I put this... technologically-impaired people with bigger buttons, etc. that had an "any" key or something that extent - this was maybe 5 + years ago - but none of the stuff I've purchased or used at other people's houses had one :shrug:
